Association Philosophy
As stated in its By-Laws, the purpose of the Maine Band Directors Association is to provide students with opportunities for goal-setting experiences and positive reinforcement for their effort and participation in various high school band music programs, while at the same time providing constructive criticism to teachers and students so that each group’s level of performance might improve.
Learning experiences also result from the opportunity to hear and see other school music groups perform in a variety of settings.
In implementation of this philosophy, the MBDA administers, sanctions, or sponsors a variety of activities associated with band music performance.
